Job Summary:

Provide individualized instruction to children with developmental delays or disabilities in alignment with IEP goals. Create inclusive classroom experiences, collaborate with therapists and families, and deliver specialized support to meet each child’s unique learning needs.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education — required
  • New York State Teaching Certification in Students with Disabilities (Birth–Grade 2) — required
  • Knowledge of child development and best practices in early childhood special education
  • Experience working with young children with developmental delays or disabilities, preferably in classroom or inclusive settings
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
  • Bilingual candidates (especially in Mandarin, Spanish, Cantonese, or Russian) strongly encouraged to apply
  • Develop and implement individualized instruction based on students’ IEP goals
  • Create a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
  • Differentiate instruction to support children with diverse cognitive, language, and physical abilities
  • Collaborate with therapists, teaching assistants, and service providers to coordinate support services
  • Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and communicate regularly with families
  • Maintain classroom routines and positive behavior supports aligned with student needs
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions
  • Ensure compliance with DOE, CPSE, and special education regulations
