Welcome to the Toddler Program at Happy Dragon Schools, where we provide a nurturing and enriching environment for children aged 2-3. Our program is designed to prepare your little one for preschool by fostering their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through engaging, play-based learning.

Our Toddler Program is specifically tailored for children aged 2-3, focusing on the developmental milestones that are crucial at this stage. We believe that early childhood is a time of exploration and discovery, and our curriculum is designed to encourage curiosity and a love for learning.

Who we are?

Happy Dragon Early Intervention Services is more than a program—we are a community of professionals committed to giving every child the strongest possible start. Our team of licensed therapists and educators brings expertise in speech, occupational and physical therapy, special instruction, and applied behavior analysis. Together, we partner with families to create individualized pathways for growth, ensuring children gain the skills, confidence, and independence they need to thrive in everyday life.

Preparing for Preschool

Our program is designed to gently prepare your child for the transition to preschool. We focus on building the foundational skills necessary for success in a more structured educational setting:

Social Skills

Learning to interact with peers, share, and follow group instructions

Language Development

Expanding vocabulary, forming simple sentences, and early literacy activities

Motor Skills

Improving fine and gross motor skills through hands-on activities and play

Cognitive Skills

Enrollment and Pricing

Our Group Sessions are approved Early Intervention services, funded by the New York State Department of Health. They are provided free of charge for all eligible families.

At Happy Dragon School, each day is thoughtfully structured to balance learning, play, and care. Our daily schedule typically includes:

Morning Circle & Group Time – greetings, songs, and sharing

Structured Learning Activities – literacy, math, and thematic lessons

Enrichment Activities – art, music, movement, and sensory play

Outdoor Play / Gross Motor Time – weather permitting

Small Group & Individualized Instruction – tailored to each child’s needs

Meals & Snacks – nutritious, balanced, and family-style where possible

We provide comprehensive programs for children from birth to age five, including:

Early Intervention Center-Based Groups (Ages 2–3)

4K Pre-K (Universal Pre-K) (Age 4)

CPSE Preschool Special Education (Ages 3–5)

Private Pay Programs
We provide daycare for children ages 2–3 not yet eligible for 3K or Pre-K for All. Extended care is available for children ages 3–5 in DOE-funded programs for flexible family support.

Universal Pre-K (UPK / Pre-K for All)

This free, DOE-funded program serves all children ages 3–5 in NYC. UPK classrooms build academic skills and support social-emotional growth, preparing children for kindergarten and beyond.

Early Intervention Center-Based Groups (Ages 2–3)

Our program helps children with developmental delays or special needs grow socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically, with small classes, hands-on activities, and family support.

Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE, Ages 3–5)

For children ages 3–5 with developmental delays or special needs, we work with CPSE to provide bilingual evaluations, IEPs, SEIT support, group services, and family collaboration.

Enrolling is simple! Parents can begin by clicking the “Apply Now” button, sending an inquiry to [email protected], or completing our Contact Us form. From there, our admissions team will guide you step by step—helping you complete the application, submit required documents (such as proof of age and immunizations), and schedule an intake meeting to get started.
